In Mr. Scalley's grade 8 computer classes we will explore Microsoft Power Point and other software applications. Students will use digital cameras, scanners and sound recorders in class to develop custom slideshows. As part of this course students will learn about photo editing, animation and working with sound files.
In Mr. Scalley's grade 6 computer classes we will explore Microsoft Word and other software applications. Students will also become familiar with the parts of the computer inside and out. As part of this course the students will learn about the history of the Internet, how the Internet works and Internet safety.
In the 8th grade, you will be working on a Web Quest. The Quest is to design a road trip to Disney World. Within the Quest a budget will be formed and then find sightseeing destinations, Disney tickets, hotels and meals all staying the budget that was created. After the Quest is finished, you will design a web page detailing every step of your road trip. During the quarter, you will use Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Internet Explorer.
In the 7th grade, you will learn many editing, formatting and designing skills using Microsoft Excel and you will also learn how to create and animate a PowerPoint presentation. The major projects will include calculating mathematical formulas, creating tables and charts, designing a survey and creating and animating a presentation. You will learn all the skills necessary to complete any class project in Microsoft Excel or PowerPoint.

Allons-y! Join us on a virtual trip to Paris. Learn how to plan your trip beginning with getting a passport and booking your flight and hotel. Then pack your bags ( in French of course), check in to your hotel, take a bateau -mouche down the Seine. See the sights of Paris as you practice the French language and learn about a city rich in traditions and history.
Welcome to the History Place! Here we will be studying topics in American History from the founding of the first thirteen colonies through the American Civil War.
In Mr. Scalley's grade 7 computer class we will explore Microsoft Excel. The students will learn how to design and work with a spreadsheet. Each student will learn how to collect data, enter mathematical formulas, format a worksheet and create colorful charts and graphs. We will discuss how spreadsheets are used in everyday life and how they can be applied to school projects.
Join the class on a trip to Antarctica, where we'll learn whether or not humans can survive the extreme cold of the continent. We'll also get a chance explore the different types of animals that can survive on this vast continent.
