  • This online course is intended to help ELL students transition successfully to the mainstream classroom.  In addition to exploring and applying specific strategies to present coursework, students will also have the opportunity to express and discuss their experiences, frustrations and successes during this process.

    This course in single-variable calculus is equivalent to one semester of college calculus. This course is designed for those students wishing to take calculus in high school but who are not planning on taking the AP Exam in May. Topics include (I) Functions, Graphs, and Limits (II) Derivatives and (III) Integrals. The focus in this class is a strong understanding of basic calculus principles as well as strenthening college algebra skills.

  • This course in single-variable calculus is equivalent to one semester of college calculus. The course is in preparation for students to successfully complete the AP CalculusAB exam administrated by the College Board. Topics include (I) Functions, Graphs, and Limits (II) Derivatives and (III) Integrals. Concepts are investigated from four different perspectives – analytical, graphical, numerical, and verbal, the “Rule of Four”. Students electing this course are expected to take the AP exam in May and, depending on the results, may be granted credit and/or appropriate placement by a participation college.

  • World History I starts with Ancient Rome.  Many movies and documentaries have helped students form ideas of what it was like to live in ancient Rome.  Watching gladiators fight in the Coliseum might sound exciting.  Living in Pompeii during the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius would certainly be terrifying.  So, let's go back in time and see how we might react to some of the famous events in Roman history.

    This grade 7 curriculum focuses on advanced word processing, introduction to spreadsheets, effective Internet searching strategies and online safety.

  • This site is designed to complement the Spanish IV Honors curriculum. When it is completed this site should serve as a resource, allow students and parents to see what was done in class and facilitate continuing class discussions.
  • In the class Digital Images & Web 2.0 Tools students develop skills to look at how digital images can add impact to a school or work presentation. By completing a series of projects, students will use programs as Photoshop, Windows Movie Maker, Audacity, Publisher, PowerPoint, and online Web 2.0 tools to enhance school, career, and home based assignments.

    Elective: Class meets 2 days out of the six day cycle.

    (Grades 10, 11, & 12)

    This course is for motivated students who are interested in developing web design and leadership skills. Students will learn basic HTML code and apply these skills to develop personal, academically based, and/or community projects. Projects may include working with a local client to develop a website, designing animated graphics, and creating publications for public service announcements.

    Through these projects, students will develop academic skills in problem solving, public speaking, writing, research, and critical thinking. In addition, students will learn how to use programs such as Dreamweaver, Adobe PhotoShop, Publisher, and PowerPoint to enhance academic assignments.

    Standard - 4 Credits - 4 Periods per cycle - Full year

  • In Mr. Tucci's Contemporary Issues class, students will become familar with several dynamic issues facing society today. Students will research, discuss, debate, and develop their own opinion on various contemporary issues. This class prepares the students of Medford High School to hold “the office of citizen.”
